| Biography: |
Bobby "L.B." Brown is the focal point of the revived Cal State Fullerton
basketball program... As point guard, he's the quarterback running the
offense... As a prolific 3-point-field-goal shooter, he's a scoring threat from
almost any spot on the floor... And as a recruiter, he has helped lure other
former Westchester High School and Los Angeles products to his side... He's the
first Cal State Fullerton player to explore the NBA draft and then withdraw to
retain his eligibility after working out with Phoenix (twice), the Clippers and
the Lakers and attending the NBA Pre-Draft Camp in Orlando... If he stays
healthy, the three-year letterman has a good chance to become the Titans'
all-time leading scorer during the 2006-07 season... He currently ranks No. 6
with 1,415 points compared to 1,876 by record holder Leon Wood... Brown ranks
No. 4 in career assists with 378 but is more than 300 behind leader Wood...
Selected the Freshman of the Year by the rival coaches in the Big West
Conference in 2003-04, Brown earned honorable mention status in 2004-05 and he
made the all-conference first team in 2005-06... He also was one of 150 players
nationally to make an NABC All-District team, gaining second-team honors in
District 15 with Louis Armundson of UNLV, Kevin Kruger of Arizona State, Matthew
Knight of LMU and Nick Lewis of USD (the first team was Hassan Adams of Arizona,
Jordan Farmar and Aaron Afflalo of UCLA and Nick Young and Gabe Pruitt of USC)...
Brown holds the school record for career 3-point field goals with 227... His
.789 career free-throw percentage ranks seventh in school history... Prior to
the 2005-06 season he was ranked by Lindy's the top playmaker and the top NBA
prospect in the Big West Conference.
CSF IN 2005-06: For the second year in a row he was the most
productive offensive player in the Big West Conference... And for the second
year in a row he came up four points shy of leading the conference in scoring...
He finished at 17.5 points per game to trail only Pacific's Christian Maraker at
17.6 ppg... Brown also was No. 2 in assists at 4.55 per game behind UC Irvine's
Aaron Fitzgerald at 6.55... Bobby ranked third in 3-point field goals made at
2.48 as his total of 72 ranked fifth best in school history... Twice he was
selected Big West player of the week (Dec. 26 and Jan. 2)... He made a pair of
all-tournament teams with 32 points and 15 assists in two games at USF and 54
points and 5 assists in two games at Florida International... He averaged just
under 35 minutes per game... An ankle injury suffered in overtime on Jan. 19 vs.
Long Beach State hobbled him for two games vs. UC Irvine and he also overcame a
sore shoulder... He failed to score in double figures only four times (9, 7, 9
and 8 points)... Finished the season strong, averaging 17.1 points and 6.6
assists as the Titans went 6-3 in the final nine games... Second to teammate
Frank Robinson in the Big West in steals with 1.55 per game... Matched his
career high with 30 points in losing effort vs. Texas-San Antonio on Dec. 28 at
Florida International Tournament... Most impressive moments of season came on
Nov. 23 when he personally outscored Pepperdine, 10-0, to turn a 60-57 deficit
into a 67-60 lead on the way to a 76-66 victory...
